Hello again, been another long while! but i swear i've been busy....doing make-up stuff, so not too strenuous but hey, i work full time too!
So i've fallen back in love with beauty this month, sometimes i have those days where i wake up and cannot be bothered with it, so just a quick dust of mineral foundation, blush and a bold lippy (preferably fuchsia or orange).
And then i will get crafty again and put in more effort, getting inspiration the night before from mags or primped.com.au (my fave beauty website), and coming up with something that takes me 45 minutes of my 1 hour 'getting ready for work' time.
I try to take a snapshot of any of my craftyness i do but most of the time it would mean running late for work and it just ain't the same after an 8 hour shift when it's smudged half way down your face (bit of an exaggeration there), so i made a mini collaboration of my 'looks' so u can see why it takes me so long, i've also started trying out falsies (eyelashes) as we got some wicked ones at work recently along with a few other items which i will show you:
you may have noticed some of these aren't my eyes, because i did a make up course and had to practice on some friends but i did do the make-up.
so these are recent purchases from work, two false lashes, one with silver on top so when you blink it shines, a two way brush that i hafta say work great and good for travel, mascara (coz i liked the old one so much), bronzing balls (yes, they're back!) and an illuminating blush which is what i got most excited about below:
lovely
Here's some other make up brands and products that i think are the shiz:
BYS or as i like to call 'Bring your shiz' make up, sooooo cheap i get it from Gloss, the cheapy make up and accessory shop that used to be ice accessories, i also stock up on a few synthetic brushes when i'm there, the containers behind are loose powders which are great for shadow intensity and i like to use the nude shimmer as an illuminator/highlighter. The lippies are a little dry, so best with gloss but if you don't wanna spend heaps on a bold lip you probably won't like in a month or so, these are a great idea.
Ah Inglot, i send alot of customers their way, for one thing it's fairly cheaper than high end beauty products, but still not something you could stock up massively on, this fuchsia lippy i get complimented on whenever i wear it, the colour comes out amazingly and smells sweet too, for $24 you can decide if it's worth it or not! and the palettes are $45 for 5 colours, and you get to mix your own colours, and once again i've had alot of 'oo- ah's' when i wear these shadows because of the intensity.
Had to have NARS in there somewhere, known for amazing shadow amongst other things, this is my favourite colour palette i have, gorgeous gold/brown, i'm more a fan of a brown smokey eye than black, it's warmer and more natural without looking like a panda. The other two items are Stila, also bought from Mecca cosmetica, the item on the left is a multi use peach colour for lips or cheeks so great in the purse for touch-ups ( was so hard to pick just one colour out of the eight!), and after i had such great experience with this brand i went back and asked the sales assistant what out of the range was a 'must-have' and she suggested the smudge pot, good as a base to put colour ontop to bring it out better, or on it's own. It's a little tricky to blend as it's a cream that is supposed to stay put so you could say it does it's job a little too well, but it definately stays throughout the day! all these products approx $40-$50
Good ol' Napol! Now you may have heard "not to prime is a crime!" here or there, which may make you think "oh crap i better get it if they say so!" but my course teacher told us that it was 'less than necessary', to put it more nicely than he did...now i agree, you won't get arrested, but i will say that it keeps your make-up in place a whole lot better! I mix it with my moisturiser in the morning to save time, they say you only need one or the other but i have fairly dry skin so i need alot. Now the liquid foundation is wicked, (whenever it's brought up, no-one believes i get pimples and discolouration, the foundation is that good), i used it on my friend when doing her make-up once and she asked for the name of it because she liked it so much (it's minimal make-up by the way). The blue-ish shadow is pigment that looks blue but turns purple when blended out, looks awesome on it's own, no shading needed!
and lastly, my collection of Sportsgirl lipglosses.
