goodie bag

Thought I'd open up my 'bag' of goodies to you guys and show you what I have acquired lately.
Right! onto business...
Seeing as you lovely people can't get enough of bags i thought this would be right up your alley, as i have three new kids on the block.

Say hello to Mildred, Bethany, and Olivia....don't ask me where i got those names - it's secret

Mildred is a beauty, a bit of pop colour but sophistication *nose up turned*, sure she
doesn't get along with most colours of clothes (they're too bitchy), but she's a statement piece in her own right! She came in a mix of red, fuchsia and grey the first time round at work and she sold like hotcakes on sale!

Bethany is like a pair of Sass and Bide shiny black jeans, you want to wear her on a night out, she's meant to be with you drinking a blue lagoon cocktail, but there's a side to her that would look cool on a casual day lunch sipping a lemon lime bitters instead.
To put in fashion English, her beading and mini clutch size means she's dressy, but her colourful design is more daytime chic - better?

Olivia is just cool.
More? okay, she's got that basic black good size to her like an LBC (little black clutch),
but then throw the studs on and she herself could be the mate who's got your name on the club door list. It's like that girl you see on the train who has a knee-length skirt and a cardigan, hair pulled back in a tight braid, who turns out to be a kick boxing champ - she packs a surprising punch.

I love all these mind visuals!
Next, you guys gonna think i'ma crazay for this, but i've bought 2 new scarves....
Shush! i know it's silly especially when it was 36 degrees today but it makes an outfit!

I like the chartreuse (fluro yellow) of this one, it's a popular thing to have a hint of this colour somewhere on your outfit lately - y'know if you're down with it...
Probably the next most popular item at our store, this belt is gorge-us!
another reason why i love it is that it's a knock-off from the ultimately cool Sass and Bide rose gold belt:
Yes it is silver, but this is what it looks like, i have this on order currently as the gold is sold out! And you know what i bought that would look perfect with it? this:
Yeah that's right
I'm going nuts over BYS nail polishes right now too, at just $4 and under i'm aloud to go a bit all out - as in a previous blog, i'm liking metallics!
And like my previous mexicana blog, this is cute as (yes i know the irony with saying skulls were cute).
Lastly, this isn't as new, but it's a big purchase i made at work and is my next party dress, covered in sequins, it's a little short, but i'll try and make sure i don't pull a Britney!

It's one shouldered, but you know how it goes, you try and get your best side, aswell as sucking in and doing the 'skinny arm' look (arm on hip to flex your arm muscles better), but in this case it emphasises my man size shoulders!
To continue...i find most sequined dresses to be quite plain so this one gives a bit more personality and totes into the aztec design.
So that's what is in my goodie bag!

pins and needles

Yeah so i've finally given in to photographing clothes on my body. i know i know three quarters of blogger land put pictures of themselves in magical scenery and whimsical clothing on their sites - most of which is pretty darn cool but would never be a real life scenario."oh these floral wedges are amazingly perfect for a walk in this big forest with no other personal belongings - all alone, with some guy following me taking photos from up in a tree"

But some of the clothes i have recently purchased just wouldn't have any justice if they snapped on the floor all flat and ick.
For starters i discovered a little place in freo when on my birthday lunch called 'wear2', as far as i understand they sell 2nd hand and sample pieces of clothes from similar brands that cite used to sell, like volcom, one teaspoon, that kinda shiz.
Get this, I got this gorgeous volcom dress for fiddy five bucks! ($55)
"Oh! you caught me candidly while i'm just standing around near a pot while in heels biting my nails- what a surprise!"
I would never normally wear these colours but the cloud print was just so cool and baggy = hidden bits which = yay! and silky, and look at the sleeves, cool as!

Next on the agenda is my visit to the Sass and Bide warehouse sale....yeah i know right? owe em gee! Didn't spend as much as i thought i would because y'know, these are tough times!
First on the list:
"igad! i seem to have dropped my camera whilst casually having my hands in my pockets in these leopard print pants"
I know these somewhat look like some pyjamas i own, but that equals comfort, and with heels they're a bit dressier and read this: originally $350, i got 'em for $30! hollaaaaa!
"oh these? just something i found lying around on the floor, you know"
these are purdy...$290, got for $70, bit sheer though, i took a pic from the back and you could see the "i heart bed" printed on my undergarments, thought not so appropriate for the website-or so i think?
"i seemed to have dropped my pencil! and must move my hair out of the way so as to see where said pencil has gone".
Pretty basic top, but if you look closely you can see it's snake printed, $30 yeah!

You know what my favourite part about these photos is? that i actually look tanned! i honestly don't know where that came from, but i like it...thankyou camera i like you muchly now.
By the way - pins equals legs, and needles equals clothes - just so you know!

birthday suit

Last weekend i turned a year older, I'm at the stage where i don't like to tell people how old i am, not because i think i'm old, but because i'm generally younger than half of my co-workers, and we don't want to open up that bag of goodies!

This is also the reason for my absence, this has been my longest running birthday ever, a week and a half of dinners and catch-ups, and no free nights to sit back and blog my 'lil heart out!

To add to this busy-ness i also will be doing my first beauty product review for primped.com.au, as i am part of their new primped posse blog, so there may be more absence in the future! but i am very excited, double exclamation marks!!

Back to the more important stuff though, ie my birthday...ahem
i thought i should share some of the presents i was given as they are just so darn spesh!
okay, seeing as you begged  me.
I have wanted these pretty little things for aaaaaages, they're from a little stall in the freo markets. Just paper cranes folded using gorgeous little pieces of paper, i like the idea of displaying something that shows someones talent (mind you it's probably some kid sitting at home folding hundreds of these or else they don't get ice cream tonight).
This is the second item from my mumsie, only the little octopus, another Thomas Sabo charm, thought i'd go for a beachy theme for lunch in Fremantle. We were a bit confused as to why it only had 5 legs....

Then these lovely pressies from my Mexican cuisine night girls. The Body Shop is always a winner for a bit of luxury pampering (if it smells like you could eat it and gain 3 kilos in doing so, i count that as luxury), and the AWW health diary, one of those things you've always thought "i should probably buy that sometime" but forgot almost instantly.
This from my lovely cousin from wait for it....Mecca Cosmetica. The perfect shade, i know i rant on about my love for bright lippy, so i shall refrain, but she did goooooood.
You may notice these lippies are perfectly photographed (i got lazy and decided to google image rather than do some work). My gorgeous Aunty got me this little balm and it is so good, u only need a tiny bit to go a long way, but i'll save the reviews for primped!
She also popped this cute pic in with my card with my cousins when we were 4/5 - oh how chubby we were!

This glorious thing is a lamp, from my dad from an antiques shop. I have a thing for 1920's art deco so this was right up my alley, i just love it, it looks amazing lit up, certainly looks amazing in my wardrobe room!

Now i did receive a gift from my boyfie (i stole that from a freind). A gift card to Freedom the furniture shop, so a good pressie as it'll end up in his house anyways! but i'll put that in another blog.

mexicana!

Proof that I can be influenced by anyone or anything, that looks cool enough to suddenly desire immensely, and make me realise i never knew i loved it.....

.....got all that?
okay i shall continue

Today the visual merchandising girls at work were doing the monthly changeover and in our 'chillout' area, they re-did the feature wall all Mexican style.
Unfortunately due to copyright/weird issues i couldn't take a photo sadly! But to paint you a pretty picture, it was a hot pink wall with framed pictures of Mexican sugar skulls, skeletons, mother Mary's, and crosses.

I suddenly realised that this was right up my alley, as i love bright colours, i have an unnatural interest in skulls, i love intricate designs, and all that lovely vintage-ee stuff.
Here's some ee gee's:

It's not just me who's got the hot's for the Mexican in the box, the sugar skull otherwise known as 'Calavera', is growing popular in the tattoo world aswell:

It has also been quite popular in jewellery design:
I've also got a thang for Mexican- looking interior decorating too, specifically cushions, so hopefully if my backyard is finito soon i can make some cool little additions!

and lastly, just to support my sudden interest, magazine photoshoots (because they rationalize any fad):

heavy metal

Something I have just realised: I looooove metallics
I noticed this as i got home today from the shops with a new metallic nail polish (which i don't need), and a metallic cuff (also which i don't need).
I then ventured to my wardrobe room (yes it's a whole room), and noticed more items purchased this month that are in the metallic category:

Cuff from Lovisa, BYS nail polish

The following ring, collar and earrings all Sportsgirl - surprised?
Rose gold jewellery is big at work at the moment, bit of a nice alternative to the silver or gold choices!
and finally the earrings, yes i know they're loooong, but they are a very similar match to Chanel's recent ones
Similar no?
I am also an Uber massive fan of the sequin dress, which i consider a metallic, this top i'm in love with that shall soon be coming into work is a must:

More pretty sequin looks:

Boy i love this last one

Then here's Givenchy's latest metallic look, not too sure about the giant shark tooth on a lanyard looking chain.
What I like most about this is actually the make-up:

Miss Gisele looks pretty happy with it as am i, how easy is that look to copy?!
and i bet someone was paid alot of money to go "hey! i have some of these sequins in my handbag, we should totes just chop em up and glue 'em on - e to the zay"
