A loaf of leopard

Winter is almost here! I can juuuust see it, I work with a few British girls, and they laugh when they see me with pants, a scarf and a jacket in the morning when its 15 degrees, apparently to them that's beach weather!
Well when the store you work at starts bringing out gorgeous winter gear when Perth is having a heatwave you start to itch waiting for some kind of a gust of wind as an excuse to rug up!

Okay so let's start with my gorgeous loafers!
Bit of a close up of my one and only tattoo, but oh how I've been waiting for these! They're Supersoft by Diana Ferrari, which is great as I'm on my feet all day at work, I need something good for my feet and these pony hair leopard print cuties are fabulous!

Just a quick pickie of my latest ear cuff that is awesome! If only I could find a headband like this!

A few new wrist pieces!
My newest bag baby, gorgeous teal blue looks fantastic with every colour under the sun, not too sure about the bacon smell though, that's a little odd.
And finally, my baby that I picked up today after waiting until I got my Loafers off layby! It's a mix of a browny berry colour, but seeing as my current black leather jacket is falling to bits, I believe this is a justified purchase, no matter what most other people would say...

Dressing room tour!

So i recently made a trip to IKEA, to purchase an essential item of furniture for my dressing room - and man did that change EVERYTHING!
I just got that butterfly feeling when I looked at my hard work (you'll see the size of these shelves and understand how difficult putting them together alone was!)

There were some high's and low's during my room transformation, but I pulled through in the end! Keeping in mind it's still a work in progress, I may even paint a feature wall down the track...here's the pics:

Before - the patches on the wall were supposed to be easy - peel decals...

After!

Some of my pieces and crafty pictures on top

Before

After - my necklaces and bangles drawers

A close-up of my baggies

glass cabinet with perfume collection

most of my heels, earrings, and art nouveau lamp from my dad

Inspirion

I've had a bit of an Epiphany lately, bit of a lightbulb moment. About what makes me click, what catches my eye, what inspires me to do things, try things and sometimes....buy things.
That last one was probably more in the 'often' box.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I see a picture of something or i am somewhere or with someone and i'm just amazed.
I love being creative and do a bit of art on the side (art being anyone's opinion), and I might see something that would make me want to challenge myself to draw or paint.

This may also apply to make-up, which i am also fairly keen, I find it very similar to painting as it's kinda obviously a similar concept just with a face. Duh...

It's not just crafty stuff that I get inspired to do either, I might read a book or an article and it will influence my way of thinking. Reading about women who have created their own businesses is my fave...possible future career move?

Mr McQueen. I was given a book about him and his collections by my boyfriends parents recently and I loooove it. Some of his creations are a little twisted (worms inside a perspex top for example), but his explanations for these creations are methods to his madness. That was a bit of a mouthful. Some of you may or may not know about his tragic end, but he was certainly an amazing person.

The dress on the left is made of razor clam shells - completely unwearable but incredible to think of it's construction. And this is what my book inspired me to do:

I do not condone smoking, but I do condone this gorgeous picture, the hair, the make-up, the watch, very graceful.
Oh Be-yon-ce! she allll woman, number one she is an inspiration for a naturally toned sexy woman (I won't say fuller-figured because she's not, she. is. natural), and her songs, sorry, Sasha Fierce's songs make you feel very empowered.
I do believe this is Lara Bingle, I do not have an opinion of her, I couldn't care less for what she has or hasn't done, all i know is that this is such a beautifully modern photo, the wispy hair and piercings are a little androgynous (that was my first attempt at that word and according to spell check i got it right!), and that's what makes it cool, it's sexy but not sex kitten.

I don't know whose houses these are but I love their looks. They look owned, personalised, lived-in. To some people this may look chaotic, but to me it's creative, and it all just seems to work.
" I wanna be on the cover of...Forbes magazine, Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen", Bruno Mars put it quite nicely.

Every girl has at least some idea of where they'd like to get married one day...either that or i'd like to just sit or lay here. *sigh*
I have a bit of a weird fascination with skulls, and this one is the best of both worlds as it's covered in diamonds! I honestly don't mind donating mine when I pass away if it's for something cool like this. Give it the grandkids...
Just the talent in this make-up creation is something to admire,
We all know who this is. He's just a cool guy. I've read two of his books, but I'm not going to say that everyone should convert to Buddhism, I haven't. What I took from the books is his idea that there is always a reason people do things they do, to not be prejudice and understand every side of situations.
Sensational picture, the contrast, the diamonds! I love the layering.
An inspiration board for inspiration, who'da thunk?
Power to the women! end of story.

white collar or blue?

Oh my god is it really you?
Yes Rachel, it is your blog....why haven't you spoken to me lately?
Do you not find me attractive anymore?
No, no honestly! I just...haven't had time.
Oh really?
Yes! Christmas, New years, lack of new purchases, i swear!
Okay I believe you, now shutup and type.

So what I have arisen out of the ashes that I must tell you, is a way to do up your buttons.
That's it. Ta Da!
But seriously yes that's what I'm writing about. It's a look that I have copied/stolen/plagiarised and am pretending i thought of myself.
To start from the beginning, I love anyone who will dress a little differently, a little quirkier, that makes you tilt your head when looking at them to get an idea of what they're actually wearing.
What I'm talking about is this cute little look:
hhmm, maybe a close up aye?
I'm lovin the whole up to the neck collar, especially with a statement neck underneath.
I know it's simple, but it's definately effective.
It can make any outfit five times quirkier, five times dressier, even five times more sophisticated.

So this is my take on the look:

Probably should have ironed that shirt...but yes despite my abnormally broad shoulders you will see me rocking this look quite often - there's so many options!

flash pants!

As you all know (or as i have so subtly mentioned alot), colour is the shiz right now.
If you're a little more game, then the bold pops of colour will travel from your top down to your bottoms, like a tradie giving a young girl the hairy eyeball as she walks past....yeah I went there.
Coloured pants are what i'm on about, the next generation of colour blocking, making that commitment to invest in some good quality leg covers is a big thing. You need to have that sit-down conversation with your pants and discuss cost per wear "I know that you are a must-have item Mr pants, but where will i wear you? and will i wear you often?" and Mr pants will reply "EVERYWEAR and ALL THE TIME!!" as to which you will purchase Mr pants with excitement and a little bit of fear.

I had said conversation with a lovely pair of pants at SABA the other week, after sending a pic of them to mum with a "nay or yay?" underneath (who better to justify a purchase than your parents?), with a yay reply i hurried back to the store and lay-by'd my 'lil heart out.
These are the glorious new addition to my wardrobe:
As these are a bit of a man-style i figured a tight fitting top would go very well
and to support my thoughts of why coloured pants are the shiz here are a few pictures of other people who think they are the shiz:

It seems teaming Mr pants with a white tee is the way to go i say! happy pantsing!
